branchoutmusicad1 Branch Out Music reviews Smoke Stack

“When you think East Coast reggae you think of bands like SOJA and John Brown’s Body. When you think West Coast Reggae, you think of bands like Slightly Stoopid, Pepper and Rebelution. What if I told you about a man with no limitations, Scott Woodruff, the mastermind behind the music of “Stick Figure” who is taking Roots Reggae Dub to new heights, sending smoke signals and gathering fans from all over. Scott has just dropped his third LP entitled “Smoke Stack” which he started writing after the release of his sophomore album “Burnin’ Ocean” which was awarded “Top 10 Best Reggae Albums” in 2008 by Apple iTunes.

Stick Figure’s latest album “Smoke Stack” captures a pure ambiance of expression with hard drum and bass intertwined with diverse echoes of dub laced, with all sorts of interesting knickknacks that keep you locked into the sound. Topped with strong, conscience lyrics that hit hard and spread like wild fire into your heart, you have no other choice but to keep on listening. Having seen Stick Figure grow as an artist for over three years, this is undoubtedly his best work to date. We were lucky to hear smoking songs prior to the release of the album like “Hawaii Song”, “Livin’ It” & “Smoke Stack” but you never expect it to be followed up with so many more killer tunes like “On2Night”, “Break of Day” & “Thick & Thin”…just to scratch the surface! I recommend this album for not just all reggae lovers but anyone who is looking for a fresh, original album that possess groovy roots dub rock with a positive message.”
